The Desert Caballeros Western Museum

One of the most popular tourist destinations in St. Wickenburg, the Desert Caballeros Western Museum hosts collections of prized Western art dating back to the 1900s to present day, local art, historical exhibits, and educational programs about Western culture. 

With affordable tickets and free entry for children, free headsets, and interactive displays of the Old West, this museum is perfect for all ages. 

Its special art exhibit “Cowgirl Up! Art from the Other Half of West” features female artists’ work every spring. 

Some of the artists the museum features include: 

Catlin, Bierstadt, Moran, Remington, Russell, Cowboy Artists of America and Taos Society of Artists, Bill Owen, Maynard Dixon, Alan Houser, Mirna Harrison and more. 

In addition to the museum’s expansive collections of art, it also hosts a life-sized historic recreation of Wickenburg from 1905. If you’re curious about the history and lives of the townsfolk and local Native American tribes in the 20th century, this is the perfect place to spend a few hours of your trip.
